How Can I Help?

home :: safety hope opportunity :: jamie

Beginning when she was 5 years old, family members sexually abused Jamie. At 8 she was removed from her home and spent the next 4 years in and out of various foster and group homes. When she arrived at Florence Crittenton at 13, she was extremely sad and confused, angry and frightened, hurt and very mistrustful. Her self-esteem was gone. Jamie needed someone to believe in her and give her a chance to succeed. What she got was beyond the dreams her tragic young life could hold.

Jamie stayed at Florence Crittenton for a year in which she received counseling, made friends and learned how to build trusting relationships with safe adults. She received care and support that enabled her to blossom and grow into a healthy, happy young girl. Today, Jamie has hope for a much brighter future. She was placed with a loving foster family who has the expertise to address her special needs and challenges.
