About Florence Crittenton :: About Our Executive Director
Linda Volhein, Executive Director

For two decades, Linda Volhein, Executive Director of Florence Crittenton, has been driving the agency to reach a new level and a new standard. Her leadership has taken the agency from nearly closing its doors in 1993, to celebrating its 100-year mark, to unveiling a state-of-the-art campus in 2003, to launching a brand new store in 2007, and establishing a lasting legacy for generations to come.
If you ask Linda what she believes has made Florence Crittenton one of the most successful agencies in the Valley, you’ll get an earful! And her passion for the agency, and our clients, will come shining through.
“We have consistent leadership and stability. We have had a vision and have driven it relentlessly. You just can’t quit on that vision. I think our niche with girls and gender-specific services has also been a valuable component of what makes Florence Crittenton unique.”
In addition, our esteemed executive director believes that Florence Crittenton of Arizona is going to be the model for the way a non-profit is run and that our constant vision for growth and trying new things will be embraced by others seeking non-profit success.
Beyond serving Florence Crittenton for more than 20 years, Linda extends her personal mission of service to the community through her leadership of the Arizona Girls Roundtable, a collaboration of 20 girl serving organizations designed to provide seamless services to at-risk girls.
Linda’s skills, talents and passions are well known in social services circles. And, this year they have been recognized by the greater non-profit community. Each year ONE, the Organization for non-profit Executives recognizes non-profit executives who are examples in the community and are dedicated to excellence in the management and leadership of their organizations. In the fall of 2007, Linda’s outstanding leadership and contributions to the community were acknowledged when she was named ONE’s 2007 Director of the Year, large programs. Please join us in congratulating Linda on this honor.
